Col Wilson 6th New York CDV of William Wilson, 39 years old. Image of the Colonel standing on a patterned rug next to a side table and column as he wears a suit and forage hat. He pulls back part of his jacket to show a sash. He enlisted on 4/25/1861 in New York City, NY as a Colonel. On 5/25/1861 he was commissioned into Field & Staff NY 6th Inf. He was mustered out on 6/25/1863 at NY,NY. He was promoted to Brig-General 11/13/1865 by Brevet. He also had service in Field & Staff NY 69th Infantry (Declined Colonelcy). Back mark reads, "Col Wm Wilson” in pencil and stamped "Published by E. Anthony, 501 Broadway, New York. From Photographic Negative, from Brady’s National Portrait Gallery.”There are some scratches on the image.
