Gen. Daniel Tyler CDV Tyler became colonel of the 1st
Connecticut in April, 1861, brigadier-general of volunteers in March, 1862 and served in the Army of the Mississippi at the siege of Corinth, was one of the commission, to investigate Buell's Kentucky campaign, and afterward was in command at Harper's Ferry, in Baltimore and in Delaware. He withdrew from the army in April, 1864. Back marked E&HT Anthony, Brady’s National Portrait Gallery.
