Nathaniel Prentiss Banks (1816 - 1894), the 24th
Governor of Massachusetts, Speaker of the US
House of Representatives, and a Union General
during the Civil War.  He was chosen by President
Lincoln as one of the first major generals of
volunteers.  Image shows a head shot of the
General wearing his officer’s coat and a full head
of hair brushed to the side.  Front of the card
reads, “ Maj Gen. N.P. Banks” and back of card
reads, “Published by the New York Photographic
Co No 453 Broadway New York.”  $95
