14266 10th New York- CDV of Charles Hill who enlisted
on 4/26/1861 at New York City, at the age of 19.  In the
image he stands with his opened frockcoat revealing his
buttoned up vest.  His trousers are tucked into his tall
boots.  He leans upon the back of a chair where a side
table and curtain are partially revealed.  The CDV shows
some wear and has rounded bottom corners.  Front of
card reads “Hill” in pencil while the back reads “Charles
Hill 10th NY Inf.”  Photographed was produced by Brady’
s of New York.  He enlisted as 2nd Lieutenant.  On
4/30/1861 he was commissioned into “G” Co. NY 10th
Infantry and was mustered out on 5/7/1863 at New York,
NY.  He was promoted to 1st Lieut on 11/21/1861 and Qtr
Master on 6/21/1862.  He was transferred from company
G to Field & Staff on 6/21/1862.  $110
