18695 Woman Suffrage Pioneer Clarian I. H. Nichols  4 ¾“ X 6 ¾“ early 20th
century copy of an 1850’s or 60’s hard image. Clarian Irene Howard Nichols
and her husband settled in Quandary, Wyandotte County, Kansas Territory.
She was active in politics and women's rights. Nichols attended the
Wyandotte Constitutional Convention 1859 where she secured for Kansas
women liberal property rights, equal guardianship of their children, and the
right to vote on all school questions. Susan B. Anthony paid tribute to
Clarian Nichols in her "History of Woman Suffrage".  This image came from
the collection of noted author William E. Connelly.   $35
