The Sale of a Negro Man named William  
December 30, 1816, Iberville Parish, La. 8” X
13” manuscript detailing the sale of the Negro
man named William for the sum of $1,100 and
being a salve for life. William was described
as being about 30 years of age and is free from
encumbrances whatsoever and also free from
diseases and defects. Beautiful manuscript,
written a year after the Battle of New
Orleans.  $375
