Revolutionary War Pay Document signed by John Lawrence, Connecticut Treasurer. Dated Oct 25, 1780. 6” x 8” The military finances for the colony of Connecticut were handled by the Pay-Table, also known as the Committee of Four during the American Revolution. The signatures of three of the four of the Pay-Table were required for an order to pay. In addition to Lawrence, this one is signed by Hezekiah Rogers (an aide to Gen. Jedidiah Huntington) and Samuel Lyman (member of the State House of Representatives and a Senator and Judge).
