Possible Reb with 1860 Colt Army 1/8 plate tintype 2.5 X 3.75” This soldier’s jacket has a short stand-up collar (precluding the US sack coat), with no piping (precluding the US frock coats) and buttons that are spaced relatively far apart (I see only about 5-6 buttons, precluding the 12-button US shell jacket and 9-button state-issue jackets). Confederates produced jackets like that, although it is rather hard to see the construction details. This image came from old time collector John Sickles who believe him to be confederate. Some soft bends. Thermoplastic case.
