William Lloyd Garrison CDV Garrison was a prominent American abolitionist, journalist, and social reformer. He is best known for founding and publishing the weekly abolitionist newspaper, The Liberator, from 1831 to 1865. Garrison advocated for the immediate and complete emancipation of enslaved people, a stance that made him a radical figure in the abolitionist movement. He also became a vocal advocate for women's rights and civil rights for African Americans. Garrison's commitment to his ideals, even in the face of opposition, earned him both respect and condemnation, solidifying his legacy as a key figure in the fight against slavery.
