Confederate and a Union Soldier A very intriguing 1/6 plate tintype. The soldier on the left with the cigar is wearing a Confederate frock coat and matching officer’s uniform. The soldier on the viewer’s right is wearing a federal sack coat and issue sky blue trousers. Was the soldier on the right a POW or was the shot taken after Appomattox? Either way it is a rare one.
