up view. He was a 1861 graduate of West Point. Gen. Kirkpatrick was the first
Regular army officer to be wounded in action at the skirmish of Big Bethel. He
was wounded again at Resaca at the beginning of the Atlanta campaign. Back marked Morse’s Gallery of the
Cumberland, Nashville, Tenn.
