few lines will find you all in good health. I have a good time now hear and I
Dont know how long I will stay hear and I wish I could see my Regiment once
more and I Dont Care for all of the good times if they will send me to my Regt.
I am not fit to go to my Regiment yet the Doctor Says and he says that he Dont
think that I will ever be as harty [hearty] as I was in my life I am as well as
I ever was If I would not have such pains in my breast and this is all the
place that I did complain of when I was sick. I have got one year and 6 days to
stay yet and I think that I can stand yet that long and if I cannot there is
men a nuff here to bury me and that is all that is required of me for I have no
one that cares for me at home and these things that I have said is the truth
and I don't talk or hint this to your
folks at all and there is but one relation that I can call any relation at all
and that is Maria and the rest are worse than any stranger that I could get
acquainted with yet and if there is any that is worse Don't want any thing to
do
with them I am still in the hospital and I don't think that I will get away
from here soon
I have nothing to do just to stay here when the cooks get supper and dinner and
breakfast and then I can run about. I don't think that I have any more to write
at this time. Write soon your true friend

Dear
Lee
I take this
opportunity to inform you
that I have left the Hospital. I am now laying in the Exchange Barracks and I
hastened to my Regiment to ? arranging and I think I will see hard times there
? that is ? for all I can Endure them as well as my Companions (can I feel very
well at this time yes) I think my Company will be glad to see me again and I
will be glad to see them. The papers state that there twas a hard battle at
Chickamauga since I was there last. I came pretty near not going, but they said
I should not go yet, but I told them that I was fit for my Regiment and the
Doctor said I mite go then. John I want you to take care of my things that I
send to you. I sent you a box yesterday and it contains one pair of boots and
one vest and one watch and some other little things and if you receive that
money that I send you well write and tell me and if you don’t receive it tell
me that to that box I expressed and the money to I have a Receipt for that them.
You may Direct your letters to the Hospital and then the letters will be forwarded
to me to my Company as I will get them. There it's not any perticuler to write
at this time. I will close. If I don’t come
home you will give that money to my sister Maria and that watch to her to and
them other things I don’t care for much but you must take your Payment of that
money for what you have Done for me. I will close my script for the present
