Brig. General William High Keim At the outbreak of the Civil War, Keim initially enlisted as a major general in the Pennsylvania Volunteers. Later commissioned as a brigadier general of U.S. Volunteers, he served with the Army of the Potomac during the Peninsula Campaign. Keim died of typhus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in May 1862 before seeing the end of the war. He is buried in Reading’s Charles Evans Cemetery. Back mark W. L. Germon’s Atelier, Philadelphia.
