Paul W. Tibbets Jr. B/Gen U.S.A.F. Jan 63” Tibbets Jr. was the pilot of the
B-29 bomber Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. He
served in the U.S. Army Air Forces (U.S.A.F.) during World War II and retired
from the military in 1966.
