W.H. Stewart Confederate Lt. Colonel Commission A rare Virginia Commission for a 3 times wounded officer signed by Confederate Secretary of War James A. Seddon. Richmond, July 26, 1864, one page, 10” x 8”, naming Stewart Lt. Colonel of the 61st Virginia Infantry. Repaired with archival
document tape on the verso along the two horizontal folds; a few marginal chips; Secretary Seddon's signature is bold.
