Brother and Sister 1/6 plate daguerreotype, dated Oct 1848 in period pencil in the case. The girl and her younger brother have their arms entwined. She wears a long-sleeved, plaid dress with smocking at the waist, a long, narrow white ribbon around her neck, drop earrings, and a fancy comb in her hair. Her brother wears a black three-piece suit with a white shirt and a bow tie. The unruly wisp of hair over his ear and the
expression on his face make him appear ill at ease.
The plate has scattered mold spiders and spots.
