CDV of the Union General who fought in many key battles including Gettysburg where his leg was struck with cannon fire. He was also a colorful and controversial New York politician who was involved in numerous public scandals, most notably the killing of his wife's lover, Philip Barton Key, son of Francis Scott Key. He was acquitted with the first use of temporary insanity as a legal defense in U.S. history. Back marked E. & H.T. Anthony, New York.
