A Patrol Member is Charged With Neglect of Duty By Being Absent on Specified Days During His Tour of Duty

"4 x 5" partly printed manuscript, Aiken, SC, May 3rd, 1850. The town council vs. R. G. Malone. The defendant was ordered to appear before the town council on May 20th, 1850 at 10 am at the office of the Intendant to answer for neglect of Patrol Duty on the 22nd of January, the 7th and 22nd of February, and 7th and 22nd of March last. By order of the Council. On the verso Malone writes on May 3rd, 1850 that indeed he was absent on the nights mentioned in the summons and signs his name. VG light tone, extremely rare!
