David Barker 8thPennsylvania Cavalry 1/6 plate tintype of Barker with his drawn saber. On one side of him is an American flag and on the other we see a rifle he has plated butt first on the floor. Period pencil inscription in the case reads,” Philadelphia, Oct 8, 1861. David Barker went to war on the 5th Oct.1861. David had his likeness taken on the 4thOct. 1861 E. R. Leidy” While all started out well for David he deserted in December 1861. A great early war image.
