Exceptional 6.5 inch X 4.5 inch tintype of James Moore, who enlisted as a private in the 9-month 24th New Jersey Infantry in September 1862. He was heavily engaged at Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville before being mustered out in June 1863. Moore is standing at attention with an 1816 musket and wearing a full G.A.R. uniform with G.A.R. membership medal and kepi insignia. To his side is a beautifully tinted 34- or 35-star Civil War vintage American Flag. A wonderful Civil War veteran’s image with excellent content and clarity. The finest example we’ve encountered.
