Charles M Blake Chaplain 13thMissouri and 3rd USCT WIA Fort Wagner A waist up view. No back mark along with his post war GAR calling card. Blake was commissioned into the 13th Missouri (8/13/1861-6/7/1862) during which time the regiment was engaged at Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, Shiloh (heavy losses), and the siege of Corinth. From 6/7/1862 – 7/21/63 he served at various hospitals. On 7/26/1863 he received a commission s captain of the 3rd USCT and was wounded in the head at the siege of Fort Wagner. Later he served as chaplain at various hospitals and posts, being a greater part of the time on the frontier.
