Miner 1/6 plate ruby
ambrotype of a younger man wearing what appears to be a miner’s frock or
overshirt. The bright-red tinting and wide placket with fanciful button
placement evoke earlier daguerreotypes of 49’ers who went to California in
search of gold. His two-piece buckle is also consistent with the look of a
miner. This is image is housed in half a leatherette case.
