General William B. Franklin ALS, 1P, 8vo., Hartford Conn., Nov. 7, 1885 Detailing that he has no war date letters or orders signed by himself.

"Dear Sir, I regret to state that I have no letter of mine written during the war, nor any order signed by me. Truly yours, W. B. Franklin To MR. E.C. Brown, New York, NY”

Franklin built the capitol dome, fought at 1st Manassas, South Mt, Sharpsburg, and Fredericksburg. He was wounded in the Red River campaign. After the war he was the General Manager of Colt firearms.
