American Country Life - Rare Union Half Plate Case houses a great daguerreotype of a man who has wavy hair and chin beard. He wears a dark suit coat, a printed vest, a high collar shirt, and a necktie. The thermoplastic case is entitled "American Country Life- Summer’s Evening” and considered to be one of the finest case designs. This is the earlier version of the design, without the border around the edge. One hinge of the case is a little loose, and one corner is slightly chipped. Otherwise the image and case are in excellent condition.
