Portrait by New Yorker Alexander Beckers 1/6 plate daguerreotype portrait of a gentleman with red tinted lips and what I believe to be a pencil and notebook in his coat pocket. Mr. Beckers held several patents relating to daguerreotype and stereoscope equipment. A nice image with a green spot over the man's shoulder in the blank field and some minor imperfections.
Contained in a well worn leather case with repaired hinge.
