Vermont Girl with Dog (Admiral George Dewey’s sister-in Law) 1/4 plate ambrotype of a girl with her dog. Identified as "Alice Elmore French Dewey and dog Rush , taken in 1860 in Montpelier, Vt.” Thermoplastic case "Family Enjoying the Piano 2.” Alice married Admiral George Dewey’s brother in 1881. This ambrotype is backed with tin foil giving it a unique presentation.
