Daniel W. Voorhees Cabinet Card Voorhees served as a United States Senator from Indiana from 1877 to 1897. He was the leader of the Democratic Party and an anti-war Copperhead during the Civil War. After the Civil War, Voorhees condemned what he perceived to be the unjust treatment of the vanquished South. Front marked C.M. Bee Washington, DC.
