The Newport CDV of The sidewheel steamer Newport. Built in 1863/64 this CDV showing the profile of the side-wheel steamer Newport, having the name painted below her covered paddle box. Newport appears to be tied to a slightly larger vessel with a dark profile, having twin funnels amidships. Under magnification a number of uniformed crewmen can be seen standing against the forward rails. No back mark.
