John S. Wilson 1st SC Cav ALS
Loganville S.C. Sept 22
Capt Walker,
Dear sir I send down by Corporal MC
Robinson furloughs for six sick men two in my opinion not worse than some five
others here to wit Cook & Sammons.
You write me to make arrangements at once
for my sick. This it strikes me is the business of another officer. And his
business to let me know what are the arrangements made. I would have come down
to Adam‘s run today. But find it necessary for me to remain here having no
officer to leave behind.
I send Sergt Janal. You will please find
out what are to be done with the sick. And when I am expected to leave here,
and where I am to go. And everything else that it may be necessary to know
relative to this move. I have received no orders yet that this company is to go
to Maryland. And no nothing of it except from your note & rumor. Are we to
have rations prepared and how many days let me know this at once. As we will
have to send to Adams run for the rations before they are prepared. What am I
to do with the baggage of the company and what are we to take. These are things
that are necessary for me to know before I receive the order to March. And I
hope that you will please find out and let me know respectfully yours JS Wilson
