Union Volunteer Refreshment Saloon Located at the foot of Washington street in Philadelphia. The saloon provided up to 15,000 cooked meals per day for the soldiers and the attached hospital treated over 10,000 sick and wounded. Note the "ghost men” in the photo who were walking as the photo was being taken. Great information on the reverse. Marked H. C. Phillips photographer on the front.
