I hope you all enjoy the sale. There will be outstanding images and documents that I have gathered for more than 30 years. It is a portion of my collection. I am still collecting and I am in good health so no worries. My recent retirement from the HR world where I spent most of my career will free me up to to focus more keenly on the website and finding quality images for you as well as continuing to build my personal collection to share with you like the image below.

Miner with Baby Colt Dragoon and Gold Nugget Sixth plate daguerreotype of a likely California gent holding a Colt "Baby Dragoon" and wearing a gold nugget stickpin. He has a thick beard and mustache and is wearing a stick pin made form a gold nugget. He holds a rare M1848 Colt "Baby Dragoon" pistol with long barrel against the table next to him. Penciled inscription in case behind image reads, "Received April 27th 1855 / Will Died April 9, 1859 at Rh[inebeck?] NY." Colt's new diminutive pocket pistol went into production sometime in 1847, appearing on the scene just in time to be purchased and taken by many prospectors seeking to hit it rich in the California gold fields.
