Confederate Private1/6 plate ambrotype with blackened tin backing. Although a flat brim is uncommon on a tall Confederate forage cap, this one is the real deal. The gray jacket and the collar trim does not correspond to any known Federal pattern. The soldier is also wearing a fancy battle shirt, with placket and pocket trim.
