Edward Welch 28th and 147th Pennsylvania Silver 12th Corps Badge The 147th Pennsylvania Infantry saw significant service during the Civil War. They were active in various campaigns, including the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3), the Mine Run Campaign, and the Shenandoah Campaign. The regiment also engaged in guard duty on the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad and the Siege of Atlanta. Their service concluded with participation in the battles of the 5th Corps, including the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, and Cold Harbor.
